Highlights A large scale synthetic fibre reinforced concrete slab was constructed and tested. The slab was subjected to point load at five different positions. Deformations (deflections) at five points were measured and reported. Results are comparable to steel fibre reinforced concrete slab tested earlier.

Fiberreinforced concrete (FRC) is concrete containing fibrous material which increases its structural integrity. It contains short discrete fibers that are uniformly distributed and randomly oriented. Fibers include steel fibers, glass fibers, synthetic fibers and natural fibers – each of which lend varying properties to the concrete. In addition, the character of fiberreinforced concrete ...

Oct 05, 2005· The mechanical performance, water permeability of the cracked material, and shrinkage crack resistance of cast concrete were evaluated. In the hybrid concrete, the microfibers delayed the development of macrocracks and so the composite demonstrated greater strength and crack resistance than a similar matrix reinforced with macrofibers only.

Most decorative GFRC products, other than artificial rocks, are made with a twolayer process with a very thin (1/8 to 3/16 inch) face coat and a thicker backing layer. Sand and cement are typically used at a ratio of about 1 to 1, although some mix designs call for slightly higher cementitious materials content (see "GRFC Mix Design," Concrete ...
